My 10k steps only = 3.6 miles

I’m 5’4” and my upper and lower body are about the same length compared to each other. I did 10k purposefully for the first time today and saw my distance was only 3.6 miles. Feeling a bit discouraged. Should I still get the noticeable health benefits if I continue the same or should I be increasing my pace? Thank you!
