Councillor Bradford's motion to REJECT the Queen East & Kingston development application FAILS 5-19.

From my post history, it’s probably clear I’m not a fan of Bradford. He’s my local councillor, and I’ve worked with him on several neighbourhood initiatives. In my experience, he often takes legitimate local concerns and turns them into photo ops with little to no action on the ground.

Some pro-housing advocates point to him as someone who supports increasing housing supply without giving in to NIMBY pressure. But even that hasn’t been consistent. In wealthier neighbourhoods, where residents have more time and resources to organize, he does seem to bend.

At Main and Danforth, we’ve seen a major increase in housing density, which makes sense given that it’s a transit hub. What doesn’t make sense is redirecting community benefits funding from that growth to the Upper Beaches. It’s also beyond frustrating to see flexibility on development in those areas while my own community isn’t seeing the same level of flexibility or reinvestment.

Be careful who you vote for.
