Hook Rackets

Hook Rackets

Has anyone got any experience of Hook rackets? I'm only aware of them as Gonzalo uses one on his Padel Drive YouTube channel.

I'm guessing he's promoting them but he certainly likes it as a racket. He uses the Solid, as per the picture.

Bullpadel XPLO Comfort for a high improver

Whilst at my local club the other week I had a chat with them about a new racket and they recommended a Bullpadel XPLO Comfort (the coach was very confident that I'd like it). Now, it turns out that I did really enjoy this racket and have tried a couple of others since (Vertex 05 and Vertex 05 Geo) and I preferred the feel of the XPLO.

I've done some research into the racket and discovered that it is really an expert racket (it is diamond shaped) which has now put me off it. I've typically been a right sided player however whilst using this racket I played on the left and actually really enjoyed it, plus it seemed to suit my style.

I just wanted to get some advice. I know typically using a racket too advanced can be a hindrance however I really liked the feel of it and felt like I played really well with it. With this in mind I'm tempted to go with it but am open to suggestions/advice.

I've been playing for nearly 12 months now and am probably playing at a UK Playtomic level of around 1.5-2 (I have a levelling session this week as I don't currently play many competitive matches). I bought a friend's Technifibre Wall breaker 360 off them for £40 a while back as a starter racket.

I would like to replace this racket with something else (I've been down many a rabbit hole when researching new rackets!) but thought it was worth asking for advice on whether I actually need to replace the racket or not.

I tend to favour the right-hand side of the court so am looking for more of a control racket. I was chatting with a guy the other week who ran a Padel online store and when he felt my racket against his Babolat (can't remember the model) he commented that my racket face was firmer than his. I've never used another racket so it's hard to comment on how my racket feels compared to others. I guess I could see what rackets my local clubs have to borrow/rent as a starter.

I'm just interested to hear opinion on whether the TF Wall breaker will suffice for now or whether it isn't suitable for me and could potentially be making things trickier.
