Best long-term storage for a Climashield Apex 200 (30 °F / -1 °C) Top Quilt?
Hi guys,
I have a Climashield Apex 200 top quilt (79" x 57" / 200 × 145 cm). It has been sitting compressed in a stuff sack for about 7 days, so it currently looks a bit thin.
I'm planning the following storage routine:
Leave it laid out flat for a a few hours to let it regain its loft.
I’m considering sewing two 28" x 20" / 70 x 50 cm pillowcases together to create a large 28" x 40" / 70 x 100 cm storage bag. This way, the Apex insulation won't be compressed at all. What do you think?
Every 2 months, take it out, give it a good shake, let it breathe for a few minutes, and then stuff it back into the pillowcase.
Is this the right approach for synthetic insulation? Should I stuff it randomly into the pillowcase or is folding it better? I want to make sure I don't damage the loft over time.
Thanks!
