Help me negotiate
Hello! I've always bought cars private party and have zero exposure to buying from a dealership. Wife wants a new car (woohoo 💩) and settled on a 2026 kia carnival. I'm looking to get more knowledgeable (via reddit i.e. your help) to get the best deal i can. We're looking at a Kia Carnival SX and the best price we've found looking at all Kia dealerships within a 150mi radius is a kia carnival SX for $45.7K; though, the exact same dealership has several other Kia Carnival SX ranging from $45K up to $55K where the specs are identical (at least the website listed specs).
I'd like to go into my local kia dealership with a desired price tag that is minimizes my losses while still making the dealership profitable.
Whats the typical dealership mark up? What does Kia actually actually pay for a 2026 Kia Carnival? Any advice for getting the best deal?
