Abandoned Car in Malta with Oakville Honda license plate holder
As a former resident of Oakville, I found this online and was curious if anyone knew about this car. I am very curious if someone had their 2005-2011 Civic Hybrid stolen from the area some time before June 2021. For privacy reasons I covered up the plate, but if you think it was yours.... let me know.
"This car has been abandoned in a private shopping mall parking in Sliema, Malta for three or four years.
It is a 2006-2009 Honda Civic hybrid with Ontario, Canada plates, bought from a dealership called Oakville Honda.
Every time I pass by, I'm excited to confirm that it's still there, and achingly curious as to the story behind it.
Interestingly, as per PlatesMania, this same car was spotted, sans thick layer of dust, at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Dartford, Kent, UK.
Why and how did a car from Ontario make it all the way to the UK and then Malta? Why has it been abandoned and collecting dust all this time? What happened to its owner? Why hasn't it been towed away by parking garage management? How hard would it be to get it running after all this time?"
