


Problem with Meijer alcohol shopping return.
Had an order tonight for a single bottle of wine from Meijer beer wine spirits shop. Everything went as planned when I went in and picked the bottle up, I’ll leave the store and get a couple miles away and I get a notification in the app that the order has been canceled and I’m getting my full pay. OK, great, cool. It also tells me to go return for another half pay, and that I can either do this now or end my dash and do it later. I go ahead and go back to the store and the manager is in the spirit shop closing down because it was right at closing time and he informed me that in my state (KY), it is illegal to return alcohol. Phone support was no help, took forever to answer. I was already halfway home by this time because as you can see, my orders are paused, no way to get out of this screen. Finally support answers and tells me to go back to the store, and let my app realize that I am there, and within five minutes it will allow him to override it. Of course this doesn’t actually work, he was running out of ideas so finally he told me that he was talking to the escalation team and that they would be calling me back and to keep my line open. Of course no one has called me and he just wanted to get me off the phone because I was very adamant that I was not hanging up until this could be resolved so that I can spend the rest of my Friday night dashing as originally planned. I have already submitted for an exemption. Should I just go back in the morning when they open back up and try to return it under a different manager? I really needed to dash tonight and tomorrow morning to make some money because I’ve got some money going out on Monday for some necessities that I have to take care of. You know, using a gig app as intended? Dashing whenever you wanna dash so you can make some cash to take care of what you need to take care of. This is bullshit. Anyone had this experience?
