Salamu alaykum
So I don't think Algeria is conventionally known as a tourist destination, but from what I've seen it looks beautiful. The lowkey beauty of Algeria is ironically why I want to visit lol, I'm drawn towards that. There also seems to be a sense of pride with Algerians that I can't say I felt with some of the neighboring countries 🙈. I mean there's a reason its "the land of a million martyrs".

I'll be landing in Algiers in less than a month. I'd love some recommendations for different scenic spots to visit, historical sites, good food, and anything at all that you love about your country that you would want someone else to experience. The recommendations could be for anywhere in Algeria, but I would probably be spending majority of the time around Annaba. When I went to Morocco, I didn't have the courage to order traditional dishes by myself since it looked different from what I'm used to. If you recommend specific restaurants that have Algerian dishes, I'd love if you also mention exactly which things to order from there because I don't know if the photos on the menu alone would be convincing enough for me to pull the trigger lol.

Also, would you say the train system is reliable there? Do they have a way to buy tickets for the train online or do you just show up to the station. And what rideshare/taxi apps are most commonly used? I need to ask this because I had an eventful afternoon at the police station in Morocco for using inDrive which I didn't know was illegal there lol.

Anything else that could be helpful for me to know? I'd love any insight you could give
