So, I must have missed something, but this part with Jafar and Maleficent is really bothering me.

Jafar tells Maleficent that he sent the Heartless to find the keyhole in Agrabah, but shouldn't the Heartless already know where the keyhole is? Isn't that where the darkness, and therefore the Heartless, come from?

If the Heartless come from the keyhole, they should already know where it is. So why does Jafar say they're looking for it?
