Junior BA role in Insurance Industry Interview coming up

Hello everyone,

I have an interview this friday for a business/operations analyst role at an Inusrance company. I'm very nervous about this. While I have done some basic BA stuff (process docs, technical docs, reports, improved some processes I personally own, automated some workflows etc) I'm not sure what kinds of questions they will give (or what types of answers I'm supposed to provide). I'm still green behind the ears with regards to insurance knowledge too.

They said the role is very system integration heavy (like gathering requirements from multiple applications and trying to transition from older systems to newer systems). I have not done anything like that before, though I am interested in learning.

If anyone has any tips on business analyst interviews (specifically INSURANCE business analyst interviews) let me know.

"You don't need therapy, you need God"

I was talking to a relative who was concerned about my low self esteem and my problems getting a job. A little into the conversation, I did talk about how I do have some issues, and they I should see a therapist.

My relative responded with "you don't need therapy, you need God" - after which had a fairly cordial discussion afterwards about religion and meaning. But those words (you don't need therapy, you need God) are still lingering in my mind. There's a sort of bitter after taste to it that I can't shake off.

Obviously this is an atheist subreddit, and being atheists, you know it's very common to be frustrated with religious relatives. I'm just venting here because most of the people in my life are religious, and there's little to know one to vent to.

How to quantify if something is a win? What is resume worthy?

Hello everyone,

I don't quite work in Analytics, but SQL has become a prominent aspect of my day to day. One of my duties is building reports for my operations team. Before I came along, we had a data workflow error where some user activities wouldn't be recorded in our database. Essentially, this affected downstream reporting for a long time before I found away to fix the error (grabbed error logs and transformed them into a sort of dataset that can then be used for reporting).

Obviously, the data workflow errors weren't that big - there were not massive distortions in operations activity. But I do wonder if minor changes like these actually qualify as a win? Like, I know I deliver reports weekly, but that's not really a "win" right?

In general, what qualifies as a "win" or an "achievement" in Analytics? What is resume worthy?
