Hello everyone! So, I’m at least trying to write a book, it’s about super soldiers and a dystopian empire and allat, it’s also set in the year 3030 so there is gonna be some sci fi. One of the sci fi things I wanted to have was this thing I’m calling Healing Light, here’s how it works:

The main way this light is emitted is via a thin white cylinder, think if a lightsaber handle was pitch white and around 15 inches long. How it works is one side (the part that faces the patient aka the bottom of it) of the cylinder, past the roughly 5 inch handle, instead of being pitch white, shows a smaller cylinder inside that emits the light.

How it works I’m not fully sure yet, but the concept is that it has been figured out how to make light speed healing up drastically, like, to the point it can reconstruct organs, bone, nerves and almost anything in under a minute depending on the severity.

There are however a few caveats:

The first and main one is the rapid healing is met with EXTREME pain. Like, 11/10 on ANYONE’s pain meter. This is because of how fast your body is healing and reconstructing itself that it just hurts a lot.

The second is that, for the light to properly heal the injury, there can’t be anything between the light and the patient, so any clothing or armor should be taken off. If, for example, you’re just wearing a t shirt the light does still work, it’s just weakened because part of the healing is done by your skin absorbing the light like it does for uv/sunlight.

The third is that it’s not a cure-everything like stims in COD and Helldivers. Instead it’s more so a boost to why your body can already do. So for example, if your forearm is snapped in half and your wrist and hand are hanging at a 90 degree angle bc it’s broken, the light will not snap your arm back in place, instead it’ll just heal the limb like that. The bone would need a splint or to be set or held in the right spot for it to heal right. It also can reconnect severed limbs.

The fourth and probably final caveat is that you need to still have a pulse, Healing Light can’t revive people, however, as long as you still have a pulse and blood is running through you, it can heal fatal injuries. Just not decapitation.

One other thing, this isn’t a caveat, is that, since the light is simple speeding up your healing, you still get scars and stuff like that.

One thing I was thinking of having is that if you have a severed limb you need to stop the bleeding first before the limb can be reattached. Now that I think of it, though, if the blood flow is stopped, your body can’t send healing stuff to the injury site, so I’m not sure about that.

That’s about all I can remember off the top of my head. If you’re reading this, thank you for reading my entire rant. Please give me your honest opinion on whether or not this only seems plausible, but that the caveats make sense in the comments. Have a great day and don’t get kebabed!
