Hey everyone,

How do you actually get an official golf handicap?

I’ve recently become a member at a course, but I play solo most of the time, and the friends I do play with don’t have handicaps either. I’ve been playing casually for a while and want to start tracking my progress properly, maybe even play in some competitions.

Do I need someone with an official handicap to verify my rounds, or can I submit scores on my own?

Also, how do you actually submit scorecards/rounds properly? Is it all done through an app now or do you still need to hand in physical cards at the club?

Any advice for getting started would be appreciated
