worried about bme versus microbiology/biological sciences
i (f16) am a junior in high school right now. i know for sure that i want to go down the path of biology because i love my ap bio class and i think with my gpa (3.94 currently) and sat (1550) i can get in somewhere pretty good. i also have a research internship lined up for the summer. i just don’t know whether to do biomedical engineering or focus on microbiology or biological sciences. my mom is pushing really hard for me to do bme because there’s more demand in the job market and better paying jobs. i also like bme because several people have told me it’s very good in making you stand out for premed tracks which i am interested in. my only issue is the engineering part…. i am in ap physics right now and i despise e&m. i just dont want to do something ill hate for the rest of my life. biological sciences or microbiology are both much more in line with what im actually interested in. i also feel like i dont really know much about bme. like how much engineering physics stuff is involved? just looking for some more info. thanks!!!
