Former no-lifer trying Hardcore as therapy
Hi everyone,
I’ve played WoW since the beta days back in the early 2000s. I’ve had breaks on and off over the years, but for the first 15–17 years it honestly felt like a second job.
These days real life is pretty busy. I work a stressful job with long hours (45+ a week), I’ve got small kids and a wife, and I’m also trying to finish a diploma in leadership on the side.
Lately I’ve been looking for a way to actually relax and switch my brain off for a bit. I kept hearing that Classic Hardcore WoW is surprisingly good for that — no endless dailies, no pressure to rush to 60 or min-max endgame, just focusing on surviving and enjoying the journey.
So here comes the slightly awkward question:
Is it frowned upon to join a guild and ask for a little help getting started? Maybe a few bags or a bit of gold so I can get going?
I honestly don’t have a ton of time to grind anymore. I mostly just want to level, take it slow, maybe even read the quests for once.
I’m not looking for a free ride or shortcuts to skip the game — I’ve done the full grind many times before. I’m mostly curious what the HC community is like and whether people are generally welcoming to older returning players with limited time.
Follow up: Thanks alot all.. sometimes you just need someone to tell you.. I will do the grind amd and full hc experience 🫡🥳
