Following up from the biochar conversation yesterday I have crushed it,soaked it for 24 hours, now it's draining, and i'm trying to decide which pile to put it in. Should I add it to a fairly new pile? Or a pile? That is, it's almost done for both? The new power are the first 2 photos. The one i'm taking the temperature of and the one with the pitchfork in the picture.

I have all the burned remains from my burn barrel; the majority is from bamboo and branches from the fall. Do I need to crush this into a powder to add it to my compost? Why can't I just add it in as is? Also, should I add another picture to show you the size of the pieces?
