Hi folks... we just picked up a 2012 Mazda5 in northeast Texas (no rust) with 129k miles for $3900.

The only problem is something we're sure isn't good... but hoping someone who's experienced this might be able to share their experiences with it.

When you let your foot off the gas around 35mph to 55mph, there's a distinct whine coming from the transmission. It goes away as soon as you begin accelerating. It's hard to hear (not very loud) but I'm accustomed to driving old(er) vehicles so I like to think I hear things other folks might not pick up on. ;-)

If anyone else has heard a whine like this, I'd like to know if you were able to make it go away, and if so, how? Or... is it something which can be lived with long term?

I'm sure it's due to something internal being worn... and a repair or rebuild could be in the cards... I'm just wondering if yall were able to continue driving it for "x" number of miles... or if this is indicative of a repair being needed ASAP... etc.

Any and all tips/tricks/help appreciated! Thanks in advance folks! :-)
