After her famous 106th race with legendary jockey Yutaka Take, the media craze cooled down, and her original owner made her disappear from the public eye for years, leaving behind a trail of tabloids and neglect. When she was finally rescued in Chiba by Martha Farm, they had to hide her identity. Her stall didn’t even bear her real name; they simply called her "Ura-chan" to protect her from the outside noise while her owner abandoned her maintenance payments.
(that was mighty cruel of the owners...)
The community didn't leave her behind. The Haru Urara no Kai association was founded to fund her old age through donations. The pictures of her in the open paddock, rolling in the mud (her favorite way to cool off!) and stretching her neck out for carrots in 2019 show the absolute peace she finally found.
Haru Urara proved that you don’t need to be a champion to win the heart of the world. Her losing streak became a charm for life, and thanks to her fans, she left this world as the most pampered old lady in Japan.
there should be some more tamamo in the world somewhere~
Licking the heck out of her trainer-san...
"Air Groove loves licking people, so she's often called Pero-chan. Despite her friendly nature, she's quite cold towards her jockey, Yutaka."
If Doto isnt chasing after the mares Ashigi-chan and Negai-chan, he's rolling around~
