I have a family member that won a gold save pin as an AF air traffic controller in vietnam for saving 10 (i think) planes. I can't seem to find any info on that award though, if it's still given out, how hard it is to get, etc. I was wondering if anyone has any info or a link that discusses these save pins and/or their general history?

No pictures or anything, just family lore.
