Does anyone else get migraines that feel different every time?

What confuses me is how inconsistent migraines can feel sometimes one episode might be mostly headache, another might be more visual symptoms, another just brain fog or feeling off makes it harder to know what actually counts as part of the same thing

Anyone else feel like it only makes sense afterward

Every time something happens, I feel like I can look back and maybe connect a few things, but in the moment everything felt normal. It’s like I’m always one step behind trying to figure it out. Not sure if this is just how it is or if people actually learn to notice it earlier.

Tracking only worked once I stopped overcomplicating it

I used to overthink tracking and try different apps or methods, but I’d always quit after a few days. Recently I started keeping it really simple, just quick notes for sleep, meals, and how I’m feeling. It’s nothing detailed, but it’s the first time I’ve actually been able to stay consistent with it.

I’ve been trying to figure out if there’s a pattern to my visual symptoms, but they seem to show up randomly some weeks nothing, then suddenly it happens, and then nothing again no clear trigger, no consistent timing, just occasional episodes makes it really hard to understand what’s actually causing it

I always thought migraines had to involve a headache, but lately i’ve been getting the visual symptoms without any pain after. it’s not super frequent, but enough to notice a pattern. just trying to understand if this is normal or something different.

I’ve tried paying more attention to what happens before, thinking I’d figure out some kind of pattern, but it still feels random most of the time. Sometimes the same things happen and nothing follows, other times it just hits without anything obvious. I don’t get how people actually figure this out. Does it eventually start making sense or is it always this unclear?

Over the past few days I started paying more attention to what’s happening before it starts, and I’m noticing something but can’t fully explain it yet. It’s not one clear thing, more like small stuff adding up. Like slightly off sleep, more screen time, or eating at different times. None of it alone feels like a trigger, but together it feels different.

What’s confusing is in the moment everything still feels normal, so I don’t really notice anything until later. Feels like the pattern is there, just not obvious enough to catch early.

Has anyone else had something like this where it’s more of a combination rather than one clear trigger?
