Is it possible to partially tear Achilles with minimal pain?

Is it possible to partially tear Achilles with minimal pain?

I exercise regularly, take dance classes as a hobby, do pilates and other classes etc. woke up 3 months ago with some slight swelling, over next 2 weeks it progressed and it really didn’t hurt until almost 2 months in. At home Thompson test was negative so I know it’s not a full tear but what are the odds I have a partial and just had delayed pain? Or the odds I’ve had tendinitis for 3 months with such severe swelling? To be fair I think that redness has always been there due to just skin dryness and eczema

Needing help. Confused about what to do next.

A couple of months ago I just kinda woke up with swelling in my lower leg, it wasn’t painful at first but now 2 months later I’m having a lot of pain mostly with walking. I’ve been able to take dance classes recently and push through the pain, jumps normally hurt a little but today in ballet I had a lot of pain in releve (on tip toes).

My doctor originally brought up the idea of an Achilles issue but I was positive that I didn’t have an injury. The swelling seems disproportionate to the other symptoms though and mostly concentrated in the backside of my heel. The pain is slightly better with walking if I don’t put my heel all the way down, so if I walk on my tippy toes on just that leg. I start out the day with very minimal pain but it gets worse as the day goes on and as I’m more active.

I’m curious if anyone here had a partial tear with delayed pain? Or any kind of similar symptoms. The pain is just right at the top of my heel and goes up a couple of inches.

I’m a cry baby and I’m convinced that I would be in a lot more pain right now but the location of the pain seems sketchy 😭

I have an appointment with a vascular surgeon but I’m growing less and less confident that this is a vascular issue.. I don’t know where to go from here or what to ask for.
