Failed part 2 but PACES booked
Hello everybody,
I’m an IMT2 and found out I’ve failed my second attempt at MRCP part 2 today. I felt quite confident with my performance, but have essentially not improved my score at all (340 to 350). The second time I did it, I got reasonable adjustments of an extra 40 minutes. I was diagnosed with ADHD last year and was still unmedicated during my previous attempts. I did struggle to have regular study sessions this time, but did still do the Quesmed question bank and some passtest past papers and even passed the official mock. I am now medicated for my ADHD and hopefully will have a better chance next time. I would likely stick to only passtest questions and past papers.
Unfortunately, I have already applied for PACES and have a later date in July. Now I’m wondering if I should withdraw from PACES and reapply for part 2 (the application window is currently open) or if it is possible to do both exams at the same time. I’m currently working LTFT and have a fairly manageable rota. In August I will move to a busy DGH. Does anybody have any experience of being in a similar situation and does anybody have any advice?
