iCare doesn’t care
Anybody with the same experience with iCare HMO?
I am a General Surgeon and recently we had a patient who underwent Modified Radical Neck Dissection. Since it was a major case I asked my colleague who is a Head and Neck Surgeon to help me out.
Come billing time, we were surprised that iCare only approved the PF for one surgeon at 30k for a BILATERAL MRND.
They said that they wouldn’t cover the assist fee for the other surgeon. We had to explain that we did LEFT and RIGHT sides. So it should count at least 2x the RUV amount.
It’s really frustrating that we should argue/fight for our rightful professional fees from HMO companies who pay us the bare minimum for our services.
Next question is… when will they pay the PF (if they will ever pay us)?
