Local Opinion Needed! Life, Culture, Tips for a "Tourist"/Wanna-be-resident lol

Hello! I am from texas, now living in Central NY and have loving it. I go to a local SUNY campus and for one of my final project is a dream vacation spot, and I chose Herhsey, PA because I love sweets, active community, and I am interested in old architecture.

Here are some of my questions that can support my project, coming from Locals and people who grew up there for a long time:

  1. Besides the weekends, which are assumingly busy, what is day-to-day life during the weekdays? Is life structured?

  2. What is the climate like all year round?

  3. Do you have any traditions or special historical events and culture specific towards the township?

  4. What are some good eats, local-- other than hershey park?

  5. Speaking of, what are some hidden gems including resturants? Any secret spots known only by locals? Any famous Ghost stories or haunted places?

  6. Any places to avoid completely?

Images of places will help! Credit will be used!

I finally got my fishing license! Woohoo! So I'm also basically brand spanking new with fishing and all I know is line, rod, hook, bait and pliers for all my tackle box needs. Basically grew up with just those! What do I need EXACTLY for a basic tackle box. Please be very specific including brands and tell me what they are used for! A shopping list would help!

I'm in the Cazenovia/Upper Central area of New York State and I just wanna catch fish and release em. I'm really not looking to catch anything specific! And all the fishing shops I've called or visited give me a weird look cause I'm a girl...

I literally just wanna fish!
