Just some tips for people looking to buy tickets. As someone who has been buying EDC tickets last minute from social media users in the last 6 years. Pic for attention*
1)Beware of fresh new reddit accounts with little to know history. Scammers drop and rename their accounts constantly. IG now has a new feature that lets you know if an account that I trying to follow you/vice versa is constantly changing their username.
ask for video chat calls of the Seller showing the box, Scammers will rarely arrange voice and video calls but when they do, they are super pushy and never actually have the product on hand to show. They just want to “talk”
Scammers always use screenshots of other people’s pictures and you can always tell by looking at the photo they posted. It’s usually just screenshot quality that’s cropped. The pictures they steal online are always screenshot quality as well. Never real authentic photos
Scammers will use the most random ass photos in their Profiles to seem “Innocent” . White soccer moms, Random Uncle pics… like you can TELL they are not ravers so be mindful. Even when they have rave pictures, it’s obvious screenshots of someones else work
checking out sellers social media that has long history and real photos/friends is a huge help so don’t be afraid to ask for instas/radiates and fbs
I would NEVER do cash or zelle if you don’t know the person
a lot of scammers just send screenshots of other people‘s boxes and email confirmations . If you are really interested, ask the seller to take a screenshot at that moment so you can actually see the phone timestamp ( the phones clock time up above). Idk if I’m explaining this well, lol. But a video call live would be the best option. Some Sellers have social anxiety and don’t want to call but others will have no issue
if buying.. ALWAYS ASK FOR ID AND/OR PASSPORT . YOU NEED A COPY OF THE BUYERS ID JUST IN CASE . THEY CAN EASILY SCRATCH OFF THEIR ADDRESS BUT A COPY OF ID SHOULDNT BE AN ISSUE.. ALOT OF SCAMMERS USE PHOTOSHOPPED IDS .. but they are usually so obvious . A lot of mistakes
