Managing Multiple Cursors

After switching from Sway to River on my ThinkPad, I've noticed my stylus has its own cursor, whereas Sway had one unified cursor for all pointing devices. While I don't mind having two cursors, the problem is that the tablet input is treated as second class. Tapping on workspace buttons does not simulate a click, and I cannot select text with the stylus like I could in Sway. What do Sway and River do differently to achieve these results? Is there a way I can cotfigure my stylus have the same priviledges my main pointer does? Is there a way I can configure the use of a unified cursor?
