anyone with UC taken either malarone or doxycycline? I need to take one or the other for a safari trip and wondering if any UC sufferers had any experience with these? my UC is under control - diagnosed in 2019 with 1 flare up last year besides that well managed overall.

I will be in Kruger in 4 weeks. June technically low risk for malaria. I have been reading with all the rain that mosquitos are more prevalent and that anti malarial advised in June. my doctor has said I can’t take them due to my health issues. should I cancel my trip to Kruger? I’d take all other precautions just wouldn’t be able to take the tablets.
