Why does it seem like younger people are so enveloped in being trans or bi or furries?

I'm (16M) and I've noticed all around me, only in my generation or younger, everyone is so adamant about being different or being "comfortable in their own body" (which i have nothing against) but their sense of being comfortable is being all these weird, alien xe/xey/xem/xer things. I feel like being that way has become a trend, especially because of social media and how younger people adapt to it. I suppose im not one to talk because I'm only 16 but there's no way on earth someone naturally feels like a dog without any outside influence from other dog people.... right?
