Lesson planning tips
Hi! I'm a new ESL teacher. The lessons I'm teaching are supposed to be mainly conversation focused, so we don't use books at all and therefore, my students barely bring any school supplies.
I struggle with lesson planning a LOT. Their old teacher didn't follow the rules and instead of dividing them into two groups, he only had one and therefore taught 20 kids at the same time. Practicing speaking with 20 kids is a huge challenge, and I didn't really want to separate them since they were used to this since the beginning of the school year :(...
ANYWAYS. They're teens. Mostly 14/15/16 years old. Any tips on lesson planning? Any other ESL teachers teaching speaking focused classes who could help me out? I struggle a lot since I don't have any university education ☹️.
SOOO
Can I get an example of how you plan your lessons and how they look like? Perhaps a tip on how to keep 20 kids busy during a speaking class?
EDIT: This damn post is so quiet, it reminds me of my classroom when I ask a question
Thank you 🫶🏻
