Beef S2 - What's with "the kids" - Gen Z narrative
Ref up to Episode 6:
So far there has been a running theme focussed on age (not uncommon for series ofc), but as far as I understand Ashley and Austin are around 28/29, Lindsay is 39 - I get Josh is in his 40s - but minimum as a couple they are roughly 10 years apart. While this is some years away, what's with Ashley and Austin being referred to as kids, and Josh and Lindsay referred to as boomers?
Was this supposed to be irony at Gen Z apparently being illiterate, so not knowing that a boomers age would at least be in their 60s and upwards and anyone seen to be "old" is simply outside of their age-range? Or was this supposed to be irony at millennials finding anyone younger than them as out of touch?
I am genuinely asking, I do find it jarring at times when series try to have what I perceive to be a modern narrative rather than just realistic scripting.
