Are there good songbooks for Octave Mandolin?
I have my first Octave Mandolin coming in tomorrow, and was wondering if there were any good songbooks for OM. I play regular mandolin and I know all that music will translate directly one octave lower, but I was wondering if there were any books for songs that lay well on an OM.
I play a couple oval-hole A-Styles, and am interested in an F-Style mandolin with F-holes for something different. I love the idea of using the scroll for your strap, however, I almost always play seated these days due to back problems, and I hate how the horn at the bottom of an F-Style digs into my leg.
Are you aware of anyone building F-Style mandolins without that horn?
I've recently read a couple plays I found both disturbing and horrifying, namely *The Pillowman* by Martin McDonagh and *Blasted* by Sarah Kane. This has reignited an interest in plays. In my college years, I saw alot of student plays, and also alot of professional plays as we had a weeks-long festival.
As an English major, I also read alot of dark medieval/renaissance playwrites like Marlowe, Kyd, and of course Shakespeare. There was some dark Greek and Roman stuff as well, but the Greek format never clicked for me in terms of something I could easily follow.
Do you have any recommendations for dark and disturbing plays?
