Should I repot my dense nanouk?

See pics below for update!!!! I decided to just go for it and trimmed my plant. Came out pretty good. Ended up with 8 new plants, different sizes!
___________________________________
I haven’t had her a full yr yet and I’ve had to repot her once before bc of how dense she got. Light (grow light) struggles to get in there!! She’s very *even* bc I’ve propped a couple pieces lol. She’s in a 8” pot. This next pot is 11” but it seems massive. And my place is tight so I have to strategically figure out where to put her after the summer when I bring her back inside.

Do u guys think she’s ok staying in the 8”?? She just seems so cramped! And I honestly hate repotting. It’s so stressful! Lol.

Don’t mind the dangling sides. Those pieces don’t want to fall off so I feel bad just ripping them off!!

Nervous about new pretty mini orchid 😬

Of course I would get the world’s cutest orchid for Mother’s Day.

This is practically the only blooming flowering plant I’ve ever had. I’ve only started my indoor plants no more than 8 months ago and I’ve avoided orchids like the plague! Anything with a bloom requires more light than I can supplement with. I feel like I’m already mourning her!!! At barely 8”, she’s the cutest lil guy I’ve ever seen!!!

Will she survive under a grow light????

To trellis or not to trellis?

I’m def overthinking this. But I can’t decide and I’ve been thinking about this for a while!!! I’ve had this Hoya for about 6 months. She’s grown a bit. A little bit. Outgrew the chopsticks!!! I’ve always wanted trailing plants but I don’t have ideal conditions and lots of restrictions due to space. I see lots of pictures of trellis’ and I like the look. But I also like how my untethered KQ looks. She’s looking to climb. But I can’t decide what to do with her. Or what style trellis suits best. I’m also scared about the process and damaging the plant! If this was ur plant, how u move forward with her? If I put her on a trellis, and don’t like it after a couple weeks or months, can I just remove her out of the trellis??

From Zebra to Zero to Zebra!

I got this Snow White zebra last yr around October. It ended up getting mealy bugs in Dec/ Jan and I kinda ended up abandoning it completely. Even when it dropped all its leaves, it still had so much signs of life so I decided to rehab it. I changed the soil and put her out in Feb during some milder days. The wind blew her off the stairs and it snapped in half 😭😭😭😭. I didn’t give up! I made some superficial slices around some of the nodes, gave a good watering, put a bag over her to maintain humidity and dumped a growing light at her. She started putting out some promising growth in March, and here we are! Barely May. And look how far along she’s coming!!!! Like this one really wants to live!!! It’s been so exciting seeing the progress day by day. ❤️❤️❤️

Thinking of propping a cutting…

Hey all. I’d like a little guidance. I finally have a successful maranta. It’s my 4th lol. I’m growing in pon and it’s been thriving. I have like 7 new flowers and I haven’t even started fertilizing yet. Still on my first reservoir!!

She’s starting to spread out a bit. But the problem is that the longest branch outs are the stems with the flowers. Like the ones with the best and most amts of nodes are the flowers. So what should I do? Should I wait for the blooming season to be over? Or do those stems make them a really great candidate for propogation? I don’t want to hurt the plant. I’ve tried in the past to water prop but had tons of issues getting roots or root rotting.

How often are u guys repotting?

I’m just curious how often you guys are repotting your tradescantias, especially zebrina’s since they grow so fast!!!! Mine isn’t super big or bushy but it’s in a smallish pot. She’s also a little unruly but I have too many props so I don’t really want to chop her up. There’s a bit of root coming out the bottom of the pot, but not much. Should I just wait?

This may seem like an obvious answer. But is it time to repot into something bigger??? Changing out the soil was so stressful. I didn’t expect this plant to boom. She’s under brighter light now so mouths and some newer growth are growing in red. She’s also already caught a buggo. So I think it’s thriving if I had to guess.

So I own this huge tradescantia… and pretty much what the title says. I’m peeping a tradescantia nanouk as we speak and I want her sooo bad lol. There’s so much pink on them. And they’re not really nanouks. They’re the ones that look like nanouks but have a slightly longer leaf.

What do I do????? Lol

This single cutting has given me several plants. Sooo many. I lost track of the mom but looking thru my pictures, original mom was super purpley. This bigger Z in the photo might be an offspring of an offspring of an offspring. Don’t really know. Could my current plants ever revert to purpley when I put her outside? Or is she possibly too diluted and this is her color now? I’m under grow lights so I can’t ever achieve those deep colors unless it’s summer and they’re out.

So I found a chomped up roach carcass (eewww) inside a live trap!!! The thing looked like it died days ago. But I was confused (naive) as to why there’s a body at all? I tapped the trap to make sure it was even alive and actually ate the roach. And it’s alive! I’m both intrigued and grossed out by this. But what do I do with the bones??? I’m so proud of my little orchestra but please tell me I don’t have to handle this manually??????

I noticed my poinsettia had some stem kinda over hanging on right side so I went to check… 2 stems were snapped and held on by like, the skin of the stem. 🙁. I dipped the ends in root hormone. Stick it back in. Hopefully they take :-/. No one walked around the plant (they say) 🙄😒.

Last photo is what she used to look like.

I got a gift from my red maranta. It’s starting to bloom!!! I’ve never gotten a gift from a plant. Let alone a freakin maranta!!! And it’s gonna be 2 flowers!! And there’s a spike somewhere else so another flower!!! Feeling like a winner.

Background- this is my 4th maranta in 8 months. I decided to go pon with one and everything has been going way smoother than with any before. I’m so happy 😁
