Got scammed on “organic” meat by my butcher
For months I’ve been buying “organic” meat from different European countries (Ireland, Italy, etc.) at premium prices.
Today I asked to see the label. I had to pressure a bit the butcher. Turns out the meat wasn’t organic AT ALL and came entirely from Poland (born, raised, and slaughtered there). But the label clearly said “Organic - Ireland.”
When I confronted him, the butcher claimed the animal was raised in Ireland then slaughtered in Poland. Lie. The actual label says otherwise.
PSA: Always check the label yourself. Ask to see where the animal was actually born, raised, AND slaughtered. It’s your legal right.
