A quote from Madam Guyon

I read this today and was so encouraged that God desires us to obtain His presence 💕

"I have found it easy to obtain the presence of God. He desires to be more present to us than we desire to seek Him. He desires to give Himself to us far more readily than we desire to receive Him. We only need to know how to seek God, and this is easier and more natural than breathing."

The entire Bible a Revelation of Jesus Christ

Loved this from christianwebsites.
The entire Bible is an unveiling, a revelation, of the wonderful Person of Jesus Christ. In each of the Old Testament prophecies, types and figures and in the New Testament fulfillment and reality of these, Christ is central. In His Bible Handbook Merrill Unger writes,
Although the Bible consists of 66 books, it is nevertheless one book. The unifying theme of Scripture is Christ. From “the Seed of the woman” (Gen. 3:15) promised in paradise lost, to the “Alpha and Omega" (Rev. 22:13) realized in paradise regained, He is “the beginning and the end,” “the first and the last” in God’s revealed ways with man.

Fermented garlic question

Are fermented garlic supposed to be crunchy? I fermented mine for about 3-4 weeks and they are crunchy. My other veggies I fermented for a week got softer. Not sure if that means anything 🤔

The First Great and Primary Business

I found this from George Muller and hope to implement in my daily life:

The point is this: I saw more clearly than ever, that the first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day was, to have my soul happy in the Lord. The first thing to be concerned about was not, how much I might serve the Lord, how I might glorify the Lord; but how I might get my soul into a happy state, and how my inner man might be nourished. For I might seek to set the truth before the unconverted, I might seek to benefit believers, I might seek to relieve the distressed, I might in other ways seek to behave myself as it becomes a child of God in this world; and yet, not being happy in the Lord, and not being nourished and strengthened in my inner man day by day, all this might not be attended to in a right spirit.
...Now I saw, that the most important thing I had to do was to give myself to the reading of the Word of God and to meditation on it, that thus my heart might be comforted, encouraged, warned, reproved, instructed; and that thus, whilst meditating, my heart might be brought into experimental, communion with the Lord. I began therefore, to meditate on the New Testament, from the beginning, early in the morning.

Immanuel, God with us

Want to share this verse and footnote I enjoyed from the Recovery Version Bible:

"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14)

Part of footnote for Immanuel:
..the content of the entire New Testament is an Immanuel (Matt 1:23; 18:20; 28:20; Rev. 21:3), and all the believers in Christ, as the members of Christ, are a part of this great Immanuel, the corporate Christ (1 Cor. 12:12; Col. 3:10-11). The sign of Immanuel consummates in the New Jerusalem, which will be the aggregate of Immanuel, the totality of God being with us.

Growing unto salvation

"As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow unto salvation," (1 Peter 2:2)

Appreciate the footnote on "newborn":
Born through regeneration (1:3, 23), the believers become babes who can grow in life unto further salvation, and that for God's building, by being nourished with the spiritual milk.

Many times this verse comes to mind when I get disappointed on myself. The Lord reminds me that I just need to continue to receive His word into me and let Him grow in me 🤍

A deeper meaning of Resurrection

I read this in christianwebsites.org:
The fact that Christ was physically raised from the dead is in itself miraculous. Yet Christ’s resurrection has a more profound significance, beyond the mere physical act of rising from the dead. Jesus identified this deeper meaning in one simple statement: “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25a, emphasis added). Resurrection is more than a historical fact. Resurrection is a person.

So wonderful that He is the resurrection and the life and I can enjoy Him as such! 💕
