Recommend me a ”no bullshit” recording software

For certain tasks I just want to capture a long stereo take from my interface. Sure I can use the DAW but I really would prefer something minimal, no fuzz, no unnecessary processing etc. I’m on macbook pro m4.

Recommend me a pair of decks

I have been out of the game for a while and am currently rocking a pair of ancient Radius3000 (American Audio).

What I like about them:
- No waveform display
- No sync
- Clean looks
- Plays from USB

What I don’t like:
- Sometimes glitchy/unstable
- The BPM detector sucks

So I’m looking to upgrade into something more reliable, however I feel a bit lost browsing the webz. Both separate decks and “complete systems” are of interest, but they have to be standalone. And I get it that most modern stuff will have waveform display and a ton of loop-functionality. I don’t mind as long as it doesn’t make it look totally crowded. I really prefer if the core functionality is in focus.

What do you recommend? I’m all for buying older/used gear as long as the model has a reputation for being stable and long lasting.

Thanks ⭐️

I built a complex synth in the grid that is entirely mapped to my Faderfox PC12 controller. In the grid I added 72 value encoders that correspond to the 72 encoders on my PC12.

I know there are ways to store midi mappings with remote controls, but I would rather not take this detour in this case. I’m wondering if it is possible to save the mappings in a custom script? See attached photo for an overview pf what the synth looks like.

Thank you!
