My mother was a paramedic and she got a call in Winston-Salem North Carolina about a man with a gun who had killed his wife. He shoots himslef in the chest and they go in and find out the woman is alive, but she's missing part of her face. Her name was Dot, short for Dorothy. This was 2001-2002 she believes, she also thinks it was Fall. If anyone knows anything, my mom would really appreciate it!

More info: My mom remembered that Dot was a black woman, but she had blue eyes, technically only one blue eye since the other was missing from the wound.
