When to plant out?

When to plant out?

I’m in Northern Ireland, UK and my plants are definitely ready to plant out but the weather isn’t playing ball. My dahlias got hit by some wind on their daily trip outside yesterday.

Worried some of the leaves are curling and a few dry edges on some leaves.

Anyone else in UK thinking of planting out soon, or any advice on what I should do next? I’m hesitant to move to bigger pots as their final home is in a raised bed and I don’t want it to be too tricky getting them out of pots. I’ve just given them a big drink hoping they’ll perk up.

Varieties - copper boy, wizard of oz, Arthur Hambley

Thanks - all advice appreciated!

Floppy dahlia help?

Hey! New to the forum here. Here’s a photo of my dahlias that I’ve started indoors. I’m now hardening them off inside during the day and bringing them in at night. I’m in the UK. The dahlia at front in orange pot seems to have gone a little floppy and weaker stems than my others.

Any thoughts?

Last year I had great success with dahlias but I started them off late into April outside - never started early inside like I have this year.

This year I am growing the varieties - Copper boy, wizard of Oz and Arthur Hambley. I got them from Farmer Gracy.

Thanks! 🌸
