Trenton Line misadventures

Never go a month without some extreme delay caused by a mechanical issue on this line. Today it feels like the universe is pulling a huge prank on me. Usually take the 5:07 pm Trenton line back to Philly, today the 4:34 train was delayed so it’s still at the station when I arrived. I get on thinking hey I’ll get home a little early. BAD DECISION. The train leaves the station around 4:48 and immediately as it was pushing off you could hear the train grinding, I knew then that was an awful sign. We inched forward over the next couple minutes and made it a total of 20 feet - JUST FAR ENOUGH FROM THE PLATFORM WHERE THEY CANT LET US OFF. As of this post it’s 5:30, we are still in Trenton and not moving. I am going to get home later than if I just took the 5:07 train the left as normally scheduled but the question is how much. We haven’t moved in 40 minutes. Why the conductor would even try to keep going when the train was immediately having issues is beyond me.

Something wrong with the fares on RR

I’ve been riding the Trenton line to work for the last year and a half here are the key bits of info:

Ride to and from North Philadelphia to Trenton
Since I don’t ride through CC it’s a cheaper fare
Online fare table only shows fares riding to/from CC
Pay with septa key card which is supposed to be cheaper
I’ve been getting charged two different fares coming and going which was odd

I overheard what the conductor was charging someone paying by card going to Trenton, which is where I get charged the more expensive fare and it was cheaper than what I pay with my key card, and more inline with what I pay on my return trip. I called septa and asked about the discrepancy and they tell me I should be paying the higher fare both ways. That’s not what’s being charged onboard though, so if I had been paying by card this last year and a half my outbound trip would’ve been less every single day. I don’t know what the disconnect is but something is wrong.
