Looking for recommendations for a Cape Sounion tour from Athens?

Hey everyone, I’m visiting Athens next week and, as a bit of a last-minute decision, I’d really like to go to Cape Sounion and see the Temple of Poseidon. Thinking about it, I’m quite interested in booking a tour from Athens so I don’t have to deal with the logistics and get historical info.

But if it’s actually easy to go there by myself, maybe I should just book a tour guide directly on site? I’d be really interested in your feedback and experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for medieval towns, castles, or historical spots near Paris?

My kids have been really into medieval stuff lately, so I’ve been looking at places around Paris that could make for a cool day trip. I already came across Provins and Château de Blandy-les-Tours, which both look pretty cool.

I'd love to hear some recommendations, thanks!

Has anyone done the Grand Palais Monument tour?

I saw on the official website of the Grand Palais that they organize guided tours focused on the history and architecture of the building, so I’m curious about the experience. If anyone here has already done the tour, I’d love to hear your feedback! Thanks

I read about the “rules” of Haussmannian buildings on Wikipedia, and when I try to apply them in real life, I get a bit lost. I can hardly find any buildings that actually match all of these criteria.

For example, on Boulevard Haussmann or Avenue de l’Opéra, the number of floors often seems different, and the balcony pattern doesn’t really match what I read. Does it have to be strictly six floors? And balconies only on the 2nd and 5th floors?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

I stumbled upon this beautiful building with stained glass windows on Rue Réaumur. There are several other really cool buildings along this street as well, so if you’re ever in the area, keep your eyes open.

I’m looking to buy a bottle of red wine as a gift for a friend (I figured red is a safe choice since he loves meat).

What are your favorite places to buy wine in Paris?

Also, any tips on how to choose a good red wine (maybe some classic safe options so I don’t mess it up)?

Would you recommend going to a proper wine shop, or are supermarkets / fine grocery stores totally fine for this kind of thing?

I don’t have a strict budget, but I’d say I can go up to around 25-30€.
