What are some gaming genre blends that your 30 plus brain just can't rewire itself to understand?

For me theres 2 examples straightaway. Cartoon graphic racing games with realistic physics. I can play sim racers, I can play arcade racers... but put arcade graphics on a semi realistic handling model and I'm hitting every single wall and missing every apex.

The other is first person open world RPGs. For some reason I just seem to get completely lost in the environment and cannot get into the combat for that reason (Cyberpunk im looking at you!) Skyrim and fallout get a pass because I roam in 3rd person and fight in 1st but anything locked to 1st I'm totally useless.
