do we gain elo depending on overall elo or move/nomove/nmpz?

When you play "no move" against someone that has a high overall elo but a lower no move elo, and you the same overall elo but a high no move elo, will you lose more elo points if you lose against that guy (because his no move elo is lower than yours) or will you lose just a few elo points (because you are both at the same overall elo )

thanks!

I started playing for the first time a few weeks ago and got to the gold 4 division where I can finally see my elo.

However I don't understand the point of having divisions if there's already elo and the point of having elo if ther's divisions, as a division is not defined by elo rating but by number of points (so basically the more you play, the better division you get in).

Because someone could stay in a lower division forever and just keep farming elo by defeating everyone, and not play for a week to go back to the lower division and do it all over again.

And for divisions, it is not rewarding winrate but rather games played, so not indicative of skill. The number 1 ranked guy in my division has low elo but played 350 games, compared to 30 games for the number 2 ranked, who has a much higher elo.

So what is the most recognized factor of level? Elo or division?
