A few weeks ago, The Intrigues of the Chevalier d’Eon dropped on Webtoon, and I’m genuinely surprised more people aren’t talking about it yet.
It’s a historical BL romance about Chevalier d’Eon, a real historical figure who also inspired The Rose of Versailles. So if you’re into elegant 18th-century drama, court politics, gender intrigue, and messy feelings in fancy outfits, this is absolutely your lane!
The story follows Charles d’Eon and his squire Alexandre, and it’s giving historical romance, espionage, political conspiracies, slow-burn tension, “why are you looking at him like that?” energy, gorgeous art, and immaculate vibes.
And the tension between Charles and Alexandre?? Actually unreal. Every interaction feels loaded, like one wrong word and the whole room is going to combust.
The art style is also stunning: super elegant, dramatic, and perfect for the setting. It really sells that whole dangerous court-romance atmosphere.
