Harness Suggestions - 10.5 year old mixed breed 60lb dog
Hey all, just introducing myself and my dog Freya. She’s a Doberman/Chow/Boxer/Staffy mix that will be 11 this October. My wife and I have noticed that Freya is starting to have some mobility issues with her hips and back legs. We’ve both heard pops in her hips when she’s gotten up from laying down for a while. This week she’s tripped going up the stairs due to her back legs starting to give out a little. At the groomer today, she noticed that when working on her back legs, that each one would shake individually if either were lifted off the platform. She let her take a few sit breaks to make sure that Freya was comfortable. I’ve started her on a glucosamine supplement which I give her in the morning. We have a vet appointment in a couple of weeks as well.
For those of you who have dealt with a large dog: is there a brand of harness with a handle that is near the midsection so I can help her up and down the stairs?
