Drawing of the Bishop ‘At-Last’ with their signature weapon

Drawing of the Bishop ‘At-Last’ with their signature weapon

the being pictured is the Bishop ’At-Last’, one of the few remaining forces of order in the city of A’hacre. After the Ancient Machines (notably different from their mechanical servant race) vanished inexplicably from their sacred city, they left their servants sealed within the subterranean walls to fend for themselves. It did not take long for chaos to descend, giving rise to a new order of things; He who could collect the most machinery and assimilate it into themselves was he who would survive.

The outlier to this rule was the servant At-Last, ruler of the Observator’s palace, one of the last of the Ancient’s intact structures. It was here that At-Last found their signature weapon; in life, a great thinker lived in the palace and he constructed an in-sync map of the earth. The one issue was that anything that affected the map would affect the Earth as well. Such a weapon of immense power would have proven disastrous in hands less restrained, as At-Last used the device as leverage to gather a large following of worshippers gathered outside the palace in exchange for refuge from the armies of vagrants and the rampaging Corpse-Roach.

Compared to others, At-Last has undergone remarkably few changes, save a replaced arm or ribcage that was damaged in battle. The protruding wires around the joints are from these repairs, have notably grown rather poor in quality since the Ancient’s departing. The grime unfortunately does show the age of the machine, as in its prime, At-Last was white as snow.

as of now At-Last has currently sealed themself within the palace after sustaining heavy damage in a vagrant attack. No further updates on their condition as of writing.

Haha, this took an embarrassingly long time to complete. It’s hard to say when exactly I started due to me experimenting and posing across different documents before settling on this pose. But in between starting and completing it, I got a job, which has greatly diminished my time to draw when combined with the school-week.

It also led to pretty quick burnout. I worked from right to left when shading which is why Conquest’s shading is a bit rushed in comparison to Sundowner’s.

Also, being given a lot of time where I wasn’t drawing but was thinking about drawing made me realize—I don’t really think they’d be friends anymore. It’s a fun idea, but their philosophies would probably conflict, I think. Conquest desperately wants connection outside of his killing but since said slaughter prevents him from doing so, he’s taken to enjoying it instead. sundowner on the other hand had all that stuff and threw it all away to kill people and traffic children. Hell, he’s probably pretty rich, if he wanted to he could probably assimilate into civilian life since we’ve heard of civilian cyborgs. It’s an opportunity Conquest would kill for (which isn’t that big of a deal to either) but Sundowner takes for granted because he doesn’t seem to want any meaningful connection.

But maybe they would be, who knows? Not every silly drawing I make has to be 100% accurate to the character’s personalities because if that were the case they’d probably be killing each other instead, and I find that much less interesting than what I did end up drawing. and also it was an excuse to draw sundowner.

Sorry if that was too much text, I didn’t mean for it to get so large but here we are anyways, haha!
