Newshosting tried raising my prices two years ago, without asking, and my card declined, thank god. I just let the account die and went with an even cheaper account at Newsgroupdirect and its been great for the last two years.

But today, I got a ping on my credit card again for Newshosting for almost $120. WTF! Thankfully, I am eternally broke, so it still did not go through, but they sure do have some shady billing practices.

Here is a tip for anyone who is currently using Newshosting.

1. Log in right now
2. Scroll down and click on Payment Method
3. Scroll down ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM and click on that little link at the bottom that says "Cancel Account"

It even feels like they try to hide the cancel process as well. I do not know what to do if you are on Paypal, I assume you can log in to Paypal and cancel the subscription in there.
