Hello, I am a nursing student considering joining the Navy. From what I’ve been told your initial contact is somewhat of a negotiation, and I am curious as to what I should be sure to lock down? My long term goal would be CRNA or NP school and I would like to ideally start out as an ICU or ER nurse. From what my recruiter says all nurses start as med-surge then move their way to ICU/ER over 1-2 years. My sister is a civilian nurse and she started immediately on ICU. I’m just curious what I would be able to lock down in writing, and what you would recommend I seek out before I sign.
