You can make some pests and bugs by using Item Frames with mob spawn eggs and putting pressure plates above them. The Ocelot one is supposed to be a bee, not quite sure if it's recognizable though.

There's also a few other things you can do with this, the closed eyeblossom for example looks somewhat like a key when put in an item frame with a pressure plate above and spears can be used to create a paper chase.
