Last year, I made wallet42: a folding ergo keyboard that's bound in leather. I designed it for portability because I'm always on the move, both large distances or just constantly switching between my desk and my lap while I'm drawing.
Now, after a year of use, I have some pet peeves I wanted to improve upon in the next iteration, now called Journal48. The biggest is wanting a dedicated pointing device.
I got inspiration to design this after watching this video where he designed a mod for an existing trackball and custom driver that converts it into a precise and smooth controller of the camera in 3d modelling programs, like a spacemouse. If down the line this can be integrated on custom keyboards. A keyboard/mouse/camera control all-in-one portable device is truly endgame for me.
Last year, I made wallet42: a corne-like folding keyboard i designed that's bound in leather. I designed it for portability because I'm always on the move, both large distances or just constantly between my desk and my lap while I'm drawing.
Now, after a year of use, I have some pet peeves on my design, mostly wanting a dedicated pointing device. It really hampered portability needing to also carry around a mouse... I plan to design it around a trackball one and add some other tweaks on this second version, now called Journal48.
