Volume 7 done, and oh dear, this is complete madness...(spoilers? Where? Here? Oh would you look at that! Yes, they are here!)

  • Since I'm not talking about the animation anymore, I'm gonna skip it to...

  • The story, JE SUS CHRIST IT WAS TENSE, seeing Ironwood at the end finally lose his mind and fall into the claws of fear was impactful, that man has officially lost it, I liked Robyn, good think she didn't died here, it would have sucked, but we didn't finished this season without one major death, poor Clover, I guess his luck ran out...also, am I the only one that noticed certain... "tension" between him and Qrow? Someone else?...just me? Ok...anyways, the Atlas's Elite Huntsmen were a delight as characters, Hare is my favorite of that team, and they worked as an amazing contrast to Team RWBY, they are a team, sure, but they are not friends, they don't hang out together, they don't know the other outside of work, they're work partners and that's it, and that's why they couldn't beat RWBY in their fight, they're not on the same page, while Team RWBY is connected through trust, loyalty, heart and friendship, other point is that NOW THEY'RE ALL CRIMINALS HOLY FUCK, I can tell Volume 8 is going to be a "vigilantes against our will" kind of Season, in which the main characters now have to fight labeled as criminals, oh, and also, I'm so glad that they're not going for the obvious route with the four maidens, at least not now, I was legit sure they were going to set up an eventual "Team RWBY will become the four maidens" story line, but either that's not on the plans yet or it's not gonna happen, period

The characters were awesome here! Also, WOOOOO PENNY IS NOT DEAD AND SHE'S NOW THE WINTER MAIDEN AND NORA KISSED REN, THEY FINALLY KISSED, AND NEITHER OF THEM DIED THAT VOLUME WOOOO...sorry, for that, I'm still traumatized for Pyrrha and Jaune, in which her kiss was the last thing she did with him before dying, but they didn't died...yet, I don't know what might happen, no one is safe in this show, the new characters introduced this season were also a delight, I was expecting Winter to become the winter maiden, but no, a curveball was thrown and now Penny is the winter maiden which... raises the question, how is she even gonna be able to pass the torch without requiring for her to get killed? She's a robot, she can't die of old age, Ironwood was really good too, at first you can see his point, and he has a plan, but once he sees and learns more stuff, slowly but surely he loses his grip and self control and now, he's full "dictator" mode now, and he's not going to hesistate now, anyone on his way is an obstacle, and he's going to get rid of it, even if it means killing someone, even if it means killing people who were allies in the past, and that reveal of Salem being the one that killed Ruby's mother hitted me hard, specially seeing Ruby breaking into tears, no anger, no flashy eyes, no "you...you... I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!" yell, just a complete meltdown, that girl is deeply broken, and yet she has the brightest smile and the purest of the spirits, I now want to see Ruby dealing the killing blow to Cinder and then to Salem, it would feel cathartic, the classic "your biggest mistake was killing my mother, and leaving me alive with a reason to kill you" moment, beautiful, cathartic and a good way to end what might be the last battle of the show

And now, in replacement of the animation part of this reviews, I'll talk about...my favorite battle of this season! Which is...TEAM RWBY VS ATLAS'S ELITE HUNTSMEN (yeah, I don't remember the name of their team, if you couldn't tell already), that battle showed the crutial thing Team RWBY has over them, trust, heart, loyalty and friendship, they're not just teammates, they're friends, they hang out outside of "work", they talk, have heart to heart coversations, they trust the other deeply, and that makes them be on the same page and not hesistate, because they know how the other thinks and acts, the other team doesn't have that, they're an elite team, but they're not friends, and that's why they lost, also, damn, that "You were...until you trained us" line of Ruby goes really hard, that girl can be a sweet cinnamon and also a badass at the same time

Overall, amazing season, it felt tense, really tense, and I loved it, Volume 8, here I go!

P.D: I'm two episodes into Volume 8, there's tension between Nora and Ren, the intro seemed more with a tragic aura, and Ironwood is completly deranged now, and yes, he will kill whoever that defies him, he lost completly

And the last time the intro had a tragic aura around it, Pyrrha died, and now that Nora finally kissed Ren, leaving clear that she loves him, and it's a mutual feeling, PLEASE DON'T KILL ANY OF THEM, YOU GUYS DIDN'T LET PYRRHA AND JAUNE BE TOGETHER, LET THIS TWO ALIVE, GIVE US PROBLEMS AND TENSION BUT NOT DEATH PLEASE... I'm feeling very normal right now

Finished Volume 6, a penny for my thoughs? No need to, I'll yap about it anyways (an spoiler warning? Oh you know it!)

  • The animation...I think I'll have to stop talking about this, not because it's bad, but because I'm just gonna repeat myself at this point, it was beautiful, it keeps improving, and the action sequences didn't dissapointed, that's pretty much it

  • The story, Ho. Ly. Shit. I did NOT expected to find out more about Salem and Oz, that whole ordeal was curveball after curveball, and I expected EVEN LESS to see that Salem wasn't the dark sibling like how I originally theorized, rather, she's a "fallen maiden" sort to speak, jailed for almost all her life, and when finally she met that special someone, life takes him away from her, a broken heart, led to a corrupted soul, that ended with a wicked mind, she wasn't born evil, she became evil, which...fuck dude, I even felt kinda Bad for her, and no one was being reasonable or at least aproachable, the gods acted in kind of a prickish way, they see all in a black and white morality that I despise, mostly because I hate people that think in black and white, don't get me wrong, they had a point, but still, pair of dicks... specially the dark sibling but well, being a complete son of a bitch is his thing, wiping humanity once was too much, and the punishment imposed to Salem was...excesive and overly cruel honestly, she did deserved a punishment, but they seem to not have realized that they were creating a monster instead of reaching her a lesson, and Oz? He was roped into all of this for the gods's uncapablity of admiting a mistake, wanting for him to fix something that one person can't do, and already saying that everything is either perfect or it's entirely gone, pair. of. dicks. Is what those gods are, also, YAY, DOOMED LOVE WITH A LOT OF ANGST, MY FAVORITE, anyways, I'm starting to suspect Oz might be kind of a freaky guy since he married and had 4 kids (I bet those were the original 4 maidens) when Salem was already looking more like how she looks currently, can't say I blame him, she looks kinda hotter now...what? Don't judge me, one thing I do have to say it's that the part with them staying in that farm full of Grimm that caused severe apathy kinda felt like filler, but other than that? No complains, Oz kinda deserved the shit he got for hiding the little, minuscule and insignificant fact that Salem CANNOT BE KILLED, how the fuck are they even gonna defeat someone that it literally cannot die? Only time will tell...

  • The characters, this definetly felt like a catharsis moment for Yang and Blake facing off against Adam, and HOLY FUCK THEY DO NOT HESITATE TO GO FOR THE KILL, I was wondering if they had some moral rule to not kill or something but NOPE, Yang and Blake double teamed his ass and scored the first kill of Team RWBY and on-screen with everything and explicit blood, Maria Calavera is a nice addition to the cast, an ex-huntress with silver eyes that lost them in a fight (fight that she ended up walking as the only one alive, and shit, that last kill of her was brutal, stab in the back and then slice the head off, poor lizard girl, but I guess that's what happens when you mess with a living legend, you might become part of it), she's sassy but not overly sassy, and has great moments too, that part with Jaune seeing Pyrrha's statue and talking to what I'm gonna assume was either Pyrrha's mom or someone close to her was a tear jerker, and maybe the way the show is saying "We know you miss her, we do too, but...it's time to move on", and yeah, I sometimes wish she was still here you know, I wish she stayed enough to have a redesing and see her animated with the new animation tool they started using in Vol.4 and for the overall ride, just a little longer but... I guess I need to move on too, I was coping at first, thinking that maybe the reason her body just vanished away like dust it's because there was a way to bring her back, but...nope, she's gone, and we have to move on, oh, and, those who ship Blake and Yang ate good this season, really good

Overall, great season, a little slow at times, but still good and entertaining, and I really liked those final episodes and that season finale, next stop, Volume 7, two more to go!

P.D: Jeaune's older sister is married to a woman and has a kid, WOOOO LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION BITCH!

Volume 5 done! Here's my Review...is this really the worst season so far? You're telling me this is as bad as RWBY gets? Because damn, if this is the worst then the best has to be the very best of media of this century (spoiler warning, because you know, you never know)

  • The animation, I know I said I wasn't going to talk much about it, but holy fuck, the action sequences are a complete delight here, the Best I've seen so far, Raven vs Cinder has to be my favorite fight so far, it felt straight out of Death Battle, hell, I was expecting a K.O plus some final comments saying why Raven won plus some end joke like...uhh..."and that's what made Cinder fall to her end"...get it? Because she literally fell and died and...alright, alright, I'll stop, but seriously, what a battle, I love when two fighters who are trained to kill fight in a death battle, because the tension is high since you know both can and will kill and you know this ends with one of them standing and breathing, it was beautiful to watch

  • The story, yeah, it was kinda slow, but I really enjoyed the slow moments where the characters could breath and just talk, like that the different heart to heart coversations between Weiss and Yang, who were arguably the less connected of the team, even Weiss recognized it, and Ruby and Oscar who Made something dawn on me...Penny is also dead, like, I though she was eventually getting fixed or something, since she's a robot, but apparently no, she's beyond repair, ergo, dead too, jesus christ, that makes Vol 3 hurt even more, because we lost two characters that were so beloved and you wanted to see more of them, I see these Volumes and I can't help but wish Pyrrha and Penny were part of it too, but alas, it is what it is, I also liked that they finally acknowledge something that has been bothering me for quite a while...Ruby sucks ass at hand to hand combat, like, without her scythe, she's pretty much useless in combat, good to see she's finally training to fix that, oh, and lastly, I was expecting Cinder to have survived the fall but not unscathed, kill Raven, incapacitate Yang, take the relic and run away, leaving Raven to have one last talk with Yang, and give her the powers of the spring maiden, glad to see that didn't happened, I wanna see more of Raven, killing her off this early was going to be wasted potential

  • The characters...it was kinda a bummer to see Sienna die, her character design and attitude made me say "damn, I hope we see more of her", besides that she was hot too...what? I really though her tigress features were hot, it sucks she was just a one-off character, she instantly became one of my favorites, but again, I get the purpose of her death, and Raven...oh dear, that woman has to be a divisive point in the fandom, isn't she? I just can tell she's always a point of arguement, I love her layers and how she always seems conflicted with what she thinks she has to do vs what she wants to do, it's a constant battle, but you can tell that at least she does love Yang, specially at the end, a ruthless bitch would have attacked her, specially since she didn't had her other arm st that moment, but she just said sorry, shed a tear, and ran away, at least she has a heart...she's misguided, but has one... also, she killed Cinder, so she's the best character by default in my books... Alright, alright, In all seriousness, I loved Cinder from a writing perspective, it's not often to see villains which only motive is power that are well written, I wish we could have get to see more of her past, like, was she always like this for no reason? Or was there a reason behind her wickedness?, Other than that, a great villain with a great final battle and a great death

Overall, I can't believe this is the worst by comparison, it means it only gets even better from here...I hope so at least...

P.D: That post credits scene makes me think that maybe Raven is now keeping an eye on Tai, maybe they'll talk or something? I mean, she did had Yang with him, and Raven does love Yang to some degree so it's probable that she did loved or still loves Tai? Who knows?...well, almost all of you of course since you already saw all this, duh

EDIT: I'm 2 episodes into Volume 6 and OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, CINDER IS STILL ALIVE!

I watched Volume 4, and as always, my thoughs as a first time viewer! (Spoiler warning just to be safe)

  • The animation...I think I won't talk about this one much in later quick reviews because THEY FIXED EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM I HAD WITH IT IN THIS SEASON, like, no joke, everything is gone, the stiffness, the weird movements, everything, is gone, now it looks smoother, more polished, it's a vast improvement, and the action sequences don't dissapoint at all, and the redesings, chef kiss, it's all I'm gonna say

  • The story, well, I already expected it to be a "licking the wounds" kind of Season, seeing our heroes going through the aftermath of their defeat last season on separate ways, and seeing how everyone is taking that massive loss, and the plans going forward, I liked the introduction of this...let's say, "Syndicate of Doom" in which Cinder is a part of it, but not the leader, and that takes me to...

  • The characters this season, I really liked seeing how everyone was going through this, poor Yang got the worse part, she lost an arm, her confidence and now has PTSD, talk about an emotional devastating combo, Ruby has occasional dreams (or maybe nightmares) hearing Pyrrha's last words, it's obvious that another fight between her and Cinder is brewing, speaking of Cinder, it seems she now has a personal vendetta against Ruby for hurting her that way, leaving her with just one eye and incapable of speaking properly, this is a rivalry I wanna see more, also, YAY OZ IS NOT DEAD...well, sorta...kinda...I don't know, he's now living in the head of Oscar, who got introduced this season, and also, the characters introduced this season got my attention, specially Salem, who's the mastermind behind everything and the "final boss" of this series, which, makes me think...Qrow talked about this gods that are siblings, one represents light and creates life, and the other representa darkness and creates things that kill, like the Grimm...and then we see that the Grimm come from whatever realm Salem is...too many coincidences, either she's connected to the dark sibling, or she IS the dark sibling, I'm intrigued to see her endgoal, and see the endgoal of the team she gathered, which, I saw some hesitation in Emerald, I saw glances of it in Vol. 3, but here it's more obvious, maybe she's starting to realize the extent of what she got into and the implications behind it...and how deranged everyone in this plan is? Only time will tell

Also, I liked how they just didn't forgot about Pyrrha here, showing that not only Ruby has occasional dreams about her last moments, but also Jeane, who was arguably the closest friend Pyrrha had, to the extent of actually having romantic feelings for him, is also still grieving, he misses her a lot, and I can tell, even if he doesn't show it much, we all do buddy, we all do...

Overall, great season, I'm weary of Volume 5 though, I heard it's not that good...

Alright, Volume 3 is done...I'm writing this while crying by the way (spoilers because I legit need to let all this out properly)

  • The animation improved MASSIVELY, like, Holy shit, they move more naturally, the background look even better, the action sequences are even better, the stiffness is almost imposible to notice, if at all, the facial expressions are far better, everything keeps going up

  • The story...this was a villain season, like, this Season was pretty much the set up for The villains of the story, their motivations, their plans in action and the end goal, plus the introduction of the big bad at the end of the Season, I already knew of her existence but I don't know her name yet, this season was to get to see more of the villains and start to hate them and see them fail while also rooting for the heroes to win (I WANT THE HEAD OF CINDER FALL IN A PIKE, YOU EVIL SOULESS BITCH I HATE YOU) and they did a magnificent job, as you can tell by my very normal reaction

  • Alright, now, the characters...PYRRHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!...that was a beautiful character death, and an example of how to write the death of a warrior like her, I want to believe she's not fully gone, but for what it seems, she's dead, like, for good, she's not coming back, and that's also a good way to make a villain like Cinder irredemable, killing a prominent character like that, it also tells you that the only way her story is ending is with defeat, either death or prison, she's not getting redeemed, she's evil and wants to see the world burn and rule the ashes, Roman's death...well, it was a perfect death for him, dying without realizing that he wasn't a player in this gamble, he was just another chip in the table playing for someone that didn't cared in losing a few chips

  • Also, for the record, I was holding my tears when Pyrrha died, but then I saw that image...and then I remembered that Monty Oum, creator of RWBY, co-writer and voice of Ren, sadly passed away, which made me break into tears entirely, I'm pretty sure everyone already paid their respects to this man, and I'm not going to be the exception

Overall, I'm hurt and I'm crying, I need to see Volume 4 and see how the story continues, I'm already hooked

And before I leave, I wanna say one last thing

Rest in peace Oum...and thanks, we all miss you

I'll keep going with these small reviews as I go through each Volumes, Vol. 2 is done, here's my thoughs

I'll keep going with these small reviews as I go through each Volumes, Vol. 2 is done, here's my thoughs

  • The animation improved, it was an small improvement but at least I can see the budget increase, now the background characters are not black silouhettes anymore, that's a plus, yet it still look a little stiff at times, but not as often as it was in Vol. 1, but the action sequences are a complete delight here, Vol. 1 had amazing action sequences, but damn, they really kicked it up a notch here

  • The story now officially kicks off the on going plot, and I'm already intrigued by it, we got introduced to Neopolitan (I always have an small cackle when I say her name out loud) and she's ruthless, like, damn, that girl fights to kill, unlike Yang, who fights to incapacitate, not much to say here, except that this feels like the beggining of something bigger and better, and I like that they fixed the problem of the inconsistency in the lenght of the episodes

  • Speaking of which, I really liked the growth the characters went here, and learning more about why they wanted to be Hunters, and how there's more than meet the eye with them, Professor Obleck- I mean, Doctor Obleck was complete treat here, I love him, and again, Neo was just...man, a silent killer that so far it seems to love her job, and that final revelation, wow, my jaw dropped, I'm not gonna spoil that though, that's the level of surprise I had

Overall, an improvement and an step into the right direction, despite the production problems I recently learned it had, they managed to pull it off, next stop, Volume 3, and for what some people here told me on my last post, I should embrace for impact...

P.D: World Of Remnant was a really cool side treat too and it did helped me to understand more of what the Grimm are, what Dust is and how Remnant is shaped and their story (Jesus christ, that world is brutal...)
