Pigeon nest in our flat stairwell

A pigeon laid an egg on our communal flat stairwell and we don’t know what to do. For context there’s 4 flats so quite a bit of ‘traffic’ that could potentially disturb the nest, and it’s not in a corner where we could safely leave them in peace but on one of the steps. The egg also looks cracked but not 100% as don’t want to get too close and cause the parents to abandon it. Is there any way we could safely move the nest slightly to a better location or will this cause the parents to abandon?
