Hope everyone is doing well,

I created and updated a variety of contacts on my iPhone, but it does not carry over and sync to my MacBook Pro. Could anybody please guide me on how I can fix this? I have contact syncing turned on, so this sounds really unusual.

The imessage conversation carries over, but on my mac it just displays the recipient's phone number.

Thanks!

For the CC to UC students, approximately how many courses should I take over the summer and winter to transfer within one year?

I really want to visit my home country over the summer, but if I must take a ton of classes, maybe I won't be able to. (I understand im giving basically no information, so just an approximation is fine.

I will try to schedule a meeting with my new CC counselor about this soon.) I just want an idea. (And my school is quarter-based.)

Thanks!!

Declining SDSU to attend CC and transfer to my dream school. Am I crazy?

I visited SDSU, and I absolutely loved the campus and the vibe. I loved the environment, and I loved absolutely everything about it.

I also bought a SDSU shirt, and I proudly wear it. SDSU is a top college for so many, and it is for me too, but I just want to chase my dream.

It's so hard declining SDSU.

Should I reconsider?? I have 2 days left to make my decision.

hey everyone, I'm a rising freshman trying to figure out which community college gives me the best shot at transferring to UCLA. i've narrowed it down to De Anza and Mission College (both in South Bay Area). I would love input from anyone who actually transferred from either of these.

here's what i know so far:

De Anza College - quarter system - 1,126 applicants to UCLA in Fall 2025 - 22% admit rate - median admit GPA 3.84–4.00

Mission College - semester system - 63 applicants to UCLA in Fall 2025 - 24% admit rate - median admit GPA 3.73–4.00

De Anza seems more well-known and sends way more students, but i've heard the student body is super competitive -- lots of people who didn't get into their first choice and are grinding hard to transfer. that might make clubs, student gov, and honor classes harder to actually get into. Plus an even more stressful environment.

Mission is smaller and seems more chill. The semester system gives more time per class, which could help GPA. the admit rate to UCLA is actually slightly higher (24% vs 22%) even though way fewer people apply, so it doesn't seem like a disadvantage. less competition for leadership roles too, but fewer opportunities. (GPA is king, though.)

both are UCLA TAP schools so the honors program pathway is available either way.

my main questions for anyone who went through this:

  1. did the quarter vs semester system noticeably affect your GPA or stress levels?
  2. how hard was it to get into honors / clubs at your school?
  3. anything you wish you'd known before picking a CC?

thanks in advance!
